Job Description:

Summary: Highly organized, experienced, Payroll and Accounting Clerk. Must have experience in payroll and an understanding of AP, AR, and general accounting practices. Enjoys working in high volume, multi-task, multiple diverse accounting environment.Primary Payroll Responsibilities: Manage semi-monthly processing of payroll using Paychex, including garnishments, benefits, 401k, and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and labor laws. Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures, recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations. Audit W-4s, payroll reports, YTD earnings, etc. Ensure systems are set-up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits and commissions. Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including monthly, quarterly and year-end reports. Ensure timely remittance of 401K deferrals, FSA, and HSA. Prepare monthly payroll, vacation accrual and bonus accrual and 401K match entries. Prepare monthly reconciliation of Payroll Accrual,401k accrual, bonus and other benefit accruals. Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of the job. Assist with 401k audit, workers comp audit and financial audit. Update procedures and protocols periodicallyAccounting job duties:

Supports accounting team when not processing payroll. Utilize accounting software to perform daily accounting entries, repetitive database updates. Reconcile AP, AR invoices and statements, some GL Maintain accurate accounting records with detailed notes, making copies; filing and scanning documents. AP expense GL coding of invoices following company procedures Follow up on discrepancies and pending items, research and investigate unbalance amounts Update excel spreadsheets Participate in projects, deadlines, and decision making along with accounting teamEducation/Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field. Minimum of 2 years in an accounting and/or related experience. Must have proficient skills and experience with MS Office "Excel" and Outlook. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
