Job Description:
The City Manager serves as the Chief Executive Officer for
theCity of Soledad and as Executive Director of the
SoledadSuccessor Agency of the Former Redevelopment Agency.
Appointed bythe City Council, the City Manager is responsible for
the overalladministration of all City government departments and
overseesthe enforcement of all pertinent State/Federal laws and
municipalordinances. The City Manager is responsible for all
cityoperations including Human Resources and the City
Clerkfunctions. The City Manager serves as the City Clerk of the
City.The City Manager oversees the preparation of the budget and
isresponsible for the administration of the budget once adopted
bythe City Council.Qualifications:The ideal candidate will be a
motivated, confident, and inspiringleader who can work with the
City Council, staff, and keystakeholders to achieve economic growth
and improve the qualityof life for the community. The successful
candidate will havewell-rounded skills in all facets of public
sector governanceincluding economic development, housing, and
policyimplementation and oversight. The selected candidate leads
bysetting a positive example of being proactive and
organized;provides clear and consistent direction and can assess
talent,mentor, and develop a team-oriented working environment of
highperformance and accountability. Excellent communication
andinterpersonal skills are required to manage the City as it
movesto improve its infrastructure, promote new and existing
businessventures, and build and maintain effective and
collaborativerelationships with regional and statewide business
partners.
