The Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Salinas is currently recruiting a passionate, guest and team oriented General Manager. This property is included in the Hilton brand of hotels. The GM is responsible overseeing all aspects of the hotel from sales to housecleaning to maintenance. The GM is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance goals focused on revenues, guest and team member satisfaction and effectiveness. The GM will coordinate, direct and manage day-to-day operations at the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Salinas. The GM reports directly to the VP of Hotel Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

The General Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day Operations, which includes the management and coordination of the front office, housekeeping, engineering, sales, and human resources. They will also ensure expenses are controlled and sales and revenue generation are maximized. Plan and manage the operations of the hotel to achieve customer satisfaction (guests, employees, corporate and owners) and quality service while meeting/exceeding financial goals.

Manage Hotel Sales and Marketing


-Develop and implement annual sales and marketing plan with the DOS to drive RevPar
-Identify and mine target markets
-Leverage Hilton sales and marketing resources
-Oversee website and coordinate hotel social media activities
-Actively engage in the community to understand the market and increase awareness
-Effectively manage and track Sales performance in achieving goals
-Monitor competitors in the marketplace
-Maintain strong relationships with key hotel guests, accounts, and competitors
Oversee Hotel and Food Service Operations including Guest Service, Housekeeping and Maintenance

-Maintain and exceed where possible Hilton operational standards
-Ensure that all policies, procedures, federal, state, and local ordinances regarding personnel, security, cash handling, guest relations, and safety are followed
-Look for ways to lower hotel costs without impacting guest satisfaction
-Inspect property on a regular basis and maintain the safety, comfort, and cleanliness of the hotel
-Effectively manage hotel labor pool and cost
-Effectively manage food costs and quality
-Effectively manage performance of hotel team to ensure effective and efficient operations
-Coordinate and train hotel team on a regular basis to improve their skills and knowledge
-Ensure property hiring and all employee practices comply with company and legal requirements and strive for a culturally diverse workplace
-All other duties and projects as assigned
Provide Superior Guest Service

-Maintain and improve property standards and service to ensure guest satisfaction
-Provide exceptional guest service to all hotel guests
-Ensure that hotel team provides exceptional guest service to all hotel guests
-Remain highly visible and be always readily available for guests
-Continually train and promote high levels of guest service to all hotel employees
-Regularly track and review guest satisfaction to identify areas for improvement
Effectively Manage Hotel to Achieve Financial Goals

-Create Annual Budget and track performance to budget and take corrective action if needed
-Achieve budgeted revenue and profit goals, balancing cost with guest satisfaction
-Approve invoices for accuracy and payment
-Monitor cost and controls on a regular basis
-Comply with all corporate accounting procedures
