The Banquet Captain will organize, communicate, and lead the team to a successful event. Motivate staff and create a positive, cohesive team to deliver exceptional service. Maintain complete knowledge of hotel standards as well as departmental standards. Knowledgeable of correct use and maintenance of all equipment's. Cleanliness is the responsibility of all associates. Full understanding of all banquet menus and beverages specified by the group. Being flexible and ability to quickly respond to client needs. Ability to focus and pay attention to all details of the event.STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS:Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. Employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor.Essential:1) Minimum five (5) years experience as a Banquet Supervisor in a Four Diamond hotel/resort/restaurant2) Ability to multi-task.3) Strong organizational skills & task oriented4) Ability to train & develop associates5) Strong sense of urgency especially in fulfilling guest needs.6) Maintains positive attitude, supports and promotes team initiatives.7) Professional presentation and clear communication skills8) Ability to remain calm, cool, and levelheaded in an emergency or high-pressure situation.Qualifications - ExternalESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1) Maintain complete knowledge of scheduled daily activities and in-house groups, daily house count, hours of operation of each outlet.2) Communicate effectively with other staff members.3) Complete knowledge of banquet sets.4) Promote positive work relationships in a team environment and with all departments.5) Ensure security and confidentiality of associate and hotel information.6) Advocate and display work habits that promote accident prevention.7) Follow and ensure proper application of emergency procedures.Job Type: Part-timePay: From $15.00 per hourSchedule: Holidays On call Weekend availabilitySupplemental Pay: TipsAbility to commute/relocate: Carmel, CA 93923: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Experience: Catering & Events Servers: 3 years (Required)Work Location: One location
