First Tee.Job Summary:The Payroll Specialist is an integral part of
the Payroll team. This position will require an individual with
strong analytical skills, ability to multi-task, pay attention to
detail, adhere to federal and state payroll regulations, meet
deadlines and open to process improvements.Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:Process and maintain payroll function in an
accurate and timely manner.Remain knowledgeable and adhere to all
regulatory guidelines applicable to payroll processing.Audit Master
File data changes on transfers and promotions.Process terminations
ensuring accurate final pay, vacation payout, and approvals.Supply
departments with reports for gratuity distributions.Provide
information for external audits when necessary/requested.Add new
standard schedules as required.Update timecards with missing
punches, additional earnings, historical entries.Set up direct
deposit accounts.Process paid time off requests (PTO) for hourly
and salaried employees.Process manual off cycle checks (historical
changes) and void/re-issue lost/stale dated checks.Audit timecards
to ensure completeness, i.e., missing punches, meal break
penalties, split shifts, holiday eligibility.Audit new hire data
submitted by Human Resources for accuracy and correct pay
profiles.Create new hire files and maintain all employee files
(hard copies) for changes to payroll information.Set up new
deductions on employees i.e.: Union dues, United way, fitness dues,
housing.Set up wage garnishments in UKG Workforce Ready.Audit all
special events new hire/rehire paperwork for accuracy.Upload
Special Events manual timecards into UKG for payment from Excel
spreadsheet keyed.Print out labels and sort out payrolls for
semi-monthly distribution.Prepare reports for accounting after each
payroll closing.Handle payment of Leave of Absence (LOA) requests.
Provide accurate tracking of all leaves from start dates to return
dates, intermittent leaves, pay, benefits, etc.Update rate table
with new rates as approved by Human Resources.Answer payroll
related questions.Complete verification of employment forms.Other
special projects as assigned by manager.Absolutely Required
Skills:3+ years' experience in payroll processing.Knowledge of
federal and state employment laws.Strong computer skills, with
experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.Basic accounting
knowledge.Ability to communicate effectively with management and
staff.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and focus on
meeting all deadlines.Ability to focus on process
improvement.Ability to learn new software quickly and recommend
changes based on changing circumstances or policies.Desired
Skills:Working knowledge of UKG Workforce Ready software.Knowledge
of tax return filings and W-2 process.Physical Requirements:Ability
to sit for long periods of time. Repetitive hand use.Why work for
