JOB SUMMARY
The Employment Specialist reports to the Program Director as a
member of the Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) participant service
delivery system. The Employment Specialist provides pre-employment
and job retention skills training while working closely with the
employer community in the development of work experience
opportunities for participants.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides individual and group job-related instruction and
mentoring.
- Develops job leads, arranges interviews and provides job
placements
- Develops volunteer and work experience sites.
- Provides case management services.
- Attends the Silver Star Program weekly meetings.
- Prepares and monitors all participant status rosters and
related forms.
- Sets up new client files and performs file maintenance in
accordance with contract.
- Maintains database of initial inquiry and placement
statistics.
- Answers phones
- Generates program forms and updates hard copy binder.
- Coordinates and purchases client support service
needs.
- Provides Employer and Community awareness education.
- Attends training seminars as required.
- Will drive on Agency business.
- Comply with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures,
including but not limited to: workplace safety, reporting work
related injuries, Infection Control and preventing potential safety
risks for staff, clients and others.
- Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility
of each employee at Turning Point. Employees are expected to report
to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working.
Employees also are expected to remain at work for their entire work
schedule. Late arrival, early departure or other absences from
scheduled hours are disruptive and must be avoided.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent; some business college
preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience working in a business
office.
- Minimum one year of experience working with the
community
- Minimum one year of experience in group facilitation.
- Ability to work on site with limited supervision.
- Ability to use equipment necessary to complete the
responsibilities of the job.
- Minimum one year of experience working with court-involved
youth ages 15-18
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality,
integrity, and tact.
- Possession of valid driver's license and access to a dependable
means of transportation that is properly insured and operated per
requirements of all laws.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and
PowerPoint, Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting
platforms.
- Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a

is required.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, general
physical, and TB test.
- Must maintain good relationships with current, future and past

others with whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to
them in a professional manner.
