As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. Rackswitch bandwidth provisioning and life-cycle management is a core/critical area in datacenter networking. The charter of the team is cost efficiency, reliability (e.g., minimize network congestion and impact to internal/external users), and application performance. Sub-areas include: rack level job scheduling and optimizing rack switch uplink bandwidth provisioning. Life-cycle management of rack switch deployment, configuration, and decommissioning and infrastructure support for introducing new rackswitch hardware platforms. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Lead end-to-end projects to support deployment of new rack switch hardware increase rack switch availability. Improve rack switch deployment flexibility, rack switch bandwidth provisioning efficiency. Increase velocity of rack switch deployments, and improve reliability of all rack switch life-cycle workflows.
