Job Description:

Overview

The Family Support Counselor provides behaviorally focused mental health services to children and families. Counselors work with youth in their environments: assisting birth/foster parents with care and supervision, maintaining a close and supportive relationship with the child's educational placement, planning activities that encourage social development, and supporting the youth in getting access to community resources. This position also provides child care for the Family Ties program during the monthly caregiver's support group.

Seneca is always looking for ways to actively empower and uplift traditionally marginalized communities. We are honored to lead a nationwide effort, Todo Por Mi Familia, a campaign to find and connect families who sought asylum in the United States to mental health services. Seneca's agency-wide DEI Advisory Board, Employee Resource Groups, and Language Practice Groups help our employees provide culturally and linguistically relevant services to the families we serve.
