Job Summary:

The Casa Palmero Assistant Manager is responsible for all aspects of the operation of a 24 room boutique resort. The Assistant Manager coordinates the efforts of the front of House Personal Valet team and the Housekeeping team to best serve the guests, employees and other departments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Block rooms, including groups, VIPs, and special requests
  • Conduct daily quality standards inspections in VIP rooms and all areas of the resorts
  • Handle special requests, concerns, and billing discrepancies
  • Understand and implement group resumes and reservation billing requirements
  • Oversee all banks, cash folios, over and short accounts
  • Keep staff informed of VIP and group schedules and any other special arrangements
  • Schedule staff at a level consistent with budget and hotel activity
  • Control labor and material costs, ensuring profitable operations
  • Ensure payroll is accurate and timely
  • Assist in the training, development, and motivation of the staff to meet and exceed established service standards
  • Interface with all departments to ensure that guests needs are met
  • Monitor consumption of supplies and equipment usage, using the standards of established quotas, safety and quality
  • Organize, conduct and participate in all inventories
  • Maintain and enforce all quality standards, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Serve as a role model for quality service and guest relations
  • Recommend changes and improvements as needed
  • Gather information and make recommendations to the Director of Rooms for products and services provided by various vendors and outside contractors
  • Attend and conduct all departmental meetings
  • Assist other departments as needed
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor
  • Knows, models, and integrates Pebble Beach Company culture including mission, values, and standards

Required Skills:

  • Able to perform, and manage direct reports, in the essential duties and responsibilities of the Personal Valets and Guest Service Attendants
  • Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of cleaning methods and products used in institutional settings
  • Valid California drivers license

Desired Skills:

  • Previous hotel and/or housekeeping supervisory experience preferred
  • Proven prior leadership success and experience
  • Strong customer service skills and both verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized
  • Ability to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the daily operations of the resort, while still maintaining a high level of world class service to all patrons
  • Develop strong interpersonal skills in task delegation and communication

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. Firm grasping and repetitive hand-use required.
