The Director of Event Operations is responsible for all elements of the hotel's group and events department, from planning to execution.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role will focus on servicing group and events bookings, acting as the liaison between Meeting Planners and the hotel staff. Responsibilities include detailing all food, beverage and A/V needs, managing room blocks, billing and final review.

The role will also manage event and catering operations, including managing the banquet, catering and beverage team. These responsibilities also require interfacing with all hotel departments to ensure events are executed successfully, exceeding client expectations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and delivering brand-appropriate event experiences including activations, dcor, theming, food and beverage concepts
  • Successful execution of all group, banquet/event bookings including planning, set-up, delivery, departure and billing
  • Effectively coordinating all hotel departments to ensure successful execution of all group and event bookings
  • Coach and mentor the Event Planning Manager(s)
  • Facilitation of payroll, reports, forecasts, point of sale procedures, inventory, and budget for food and beverage functions
  • Responsible for achieving prescribed guest satisfaction scores for group travel, meetings, and events
  • Review and assign group sales files to appropriate CS Managers for detailing and facilitating events
  • Serve as a liaison between Meeting Planners, Sales Department, and Operational Staff
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire Team Members to meet and exceed standards.
  • Facilitate B.E.O. Meetings and attend any other required meetings
  • Conduct function space audits
  • Ensure event spaces are maintained according to hotel operating standards and compliant with all department of health regulations


This position is a full-time management position. Given the dynamics of events, the position will require a flexible work-week, including weekends according to business needs.

  • 5 years' experience as an Event Services Manager/Event Planning Manager in a hotel
  • 2 years of direct management or supervisor experience
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail orientated, self-motivated, creative, highly-organized
  • Previous experience with hotel event management software such as Envision, Delphi, CVENT, and Oracle
