Purpose of Position:
Customer Service Specialist - Assist sales team with order entry,
credit entry, and other administrative tasks as needed. Perform
customers service related tasks; answering phones, addressing
inquires, providing product and service updates by communicating
with customers (internal and external). Ideal candidate will have
enthusiastic attitude, be an active listener, problem solver and
detail-oriented. achieving revenue and margin goals and objectives.
In this role, the incumbent will require to give the company a
dominant presence within the sales area. The individual will also
collaborate with other departments to promote company's product
line and ensure continued satisfaction and success. This is a
hybrid position, between FOB sales and outside business development
and account management. Constant interaction with buyers daily, as
well as Category Managers, Directors and VPs of Produce.
- Provide best in class customer experience that exhibit highest
standards of professionalism
- Assist with accounts and provide some backup capacity to handle
accounts when shorthanded
- Communicate quality related arrival issues to Internal Sales
- Review all credit memos requiring approval before submission to
- Update critical market pricing by providing daily price sheet
for sales team and maintaining USDA Mid Mostly for internal
- Assist sales team with order entry, credit entry, and other
administrative tasks as needed.
- Utilize electronic ordering systems i.e. EDI and Itrade to
provide customers with passings, BOLs, and invoices.
- Assist as needed with trouble files, R&A, Balance Dues, and
Past Dues are settled within the Company's time
- Some off hour accessibility to sales representative to customer
address customer needs
- Other sales and clerical related duties.
Minimum Skills Required:
- BA/BS degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred in fresh produce
- Experience working with retailers, foodservice distributors,
- Relationship management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technical skills, including demonstrated proficiencies
in Excel. JDE and SAP a plus
- Ability to interact with and adapt to different personalities
and work styles
- Ability to balance customers' needs with the financial
well-being of the Company.
- Ability to work independently within the guidelines
- Strong Attention to details
- Ability to work well under pressure and time
- Ability to track down data from internal sources in a
professional but persistent manner
