POSITION DESCRIPTIONTitle: Membership & Family Services Assistant (Impact Lead II)Work Schedule: Part-time - generally scheduled up to 30 hours per week, Mondays - Fridays, between 7:00am and -7:00pm with occasional later evening and weekend responsibilities for programming, training, and special events.Reports to: Membership & Family SpecialistMISSION: "Our Mission is to inspire and empower the youth of Monterey County to realize their full potential to become responsible, healthy, productive and successful citizens."POSITION SUMMARY: Working under the direction of their assigned Supervisor, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC) MFS, Impact Leader II is directly responsible for achieving the BGCMC's Mission by providing outstanding customer service to reinforce a welcoming, positive Club environment, with special emphasis on instilling a sense of belonging among youth and parents. Additionally, the MFS Impact Leader II is responsible for maintaining accurate Membership records and following Membership protocols and standard operating procedures.PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the entry area, front counter, and other workspaces are safe, neat, clean, and in order, including but not limited to, updating bulletin boards and restocking forms, fliers, and other information necessary to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Welcome youth into their Club by greeting them by name and with enthusiasm.
  • Welcome parents and other stakeholders by proactively greeting them in a positive manner.
  • Provide prompt, professional, courteous customer service for youth and the general public by knowing current program and activity offerings and helping stakeholders have their inquiries effectively addressed.
  • Communicate effectively using the public address system, over the phone, in person, and via email.
  • Adhere to Membership Services protocols and procedures as well and uphold BGCMC rules, operational values,
  • Collect and report accurate Membership data utilizing electronic and paper-based tracking tools.
  • Assist with New Member orientations as well as outreach and retention activities.
  • Control and direct traffic in the lobby, front counter and general work area.
  • Respect the confidentiality of member, employee, and volunteer information.. Requirements:
    • Must be at least 18 years of age and successfully complete pre-employment background check and drug testing.
    • Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
    • Have two or more years in a related field and/or successful work/volunteer experience, including but not limited to service as a Receptions, Clerical Assistant, Customer Service Representative or similar position.
    • Tech savvy, including proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, Google Work Spaceand Internet for program facilitation and maximum productivity.
      • Oral and written fluency and proficiency in English and Spanish.
      • Ability to perform work in a highly interactive and emotionally and physically stimulating environment with diverse stakeholders, including children and Teens, parents, Staff, investors, etc.
      • Must have a reliable and accessible mode of transportation to BGCMC work site.Additional requirements:
        • MUST present proof of COVID-19 vaccination (if eligible for a medical exemption, please communicate directly with BGCMC's Human Resources team) prior to the start date.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
          • Advanced competency in utilizing TraxSolutions Membership Management software
          • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, Google WorkSpace,
          • Experience working in Boys & Girls Club or other Mission-driven, youth-serving organizations.
          • Post-secondary education, training &/or certification relevant to successfully fulfilling job functions.
          • Cultural competence, ability to work with diverse youth and people
          • Bilingual in Spanish and EnglishCOMPENSATION: Salary begins at $16.15/hour and based upon experience and qualifications. Paid benefits package at Impact Leader II level consisting of accrual of up to 30 hours paid vacation, 30 hours paid sick leave, plus 24 hours of paid California Healthy Workplace Healthy Family sick leave, medical, vision, dental, life and disability insurance, pension and 403(b) plan investment options. Professional development opportunities are available contingent upon funding and approval.
