Job Summary: The Team Host works within a team environment, coordinates guests' dining experience from start to finish. Ensures all guests receive immediate, personalized and professional attention. Ideal candidate will possess an outgoing, dynamic personality with a positive attitude. Must contribute to a team environment by taking orders, delivering food, restocking plates/silverware, clearing tables and resetting tables, and assists the restaurant team to ensure guests have an excellent dining experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Oversee and assist in maintaining cleanliness of outlet.
* Ensure coverage of the entrance, greeting arriving guests and thanking those that are leaving.
* Assist with special event set-up, such as skirting buffet or inserting menu cards.
* Check reservations in book and assign table numbers. Ensure availability for resort guests.
* Call to confirm large parties.
* Check schedule and staffing levels.
* Check all menus for cleanliness and accuracy.
* Answer the telephone, take reservations and give directions to restaurant.
* Maintain waiting list, select table and escort guests to the table.
* Resolve guest problems whenever possible and involve manager when necessary.
* Answer questions regarding menu items.
* Schedule reservations according to established procedures.
* Bring guests' needs to the attention of appropriate dining room staff or management.
* Complete daily labor report.
* Check reservations in book and IG, and assign table numbers. Ensure availability for resort guests.
* Check IG for reservations and maintain waves.
* Call to confirm large parties and schedule reservations according to established procedures.
* Maintain waiting list, select table and escort guests to the table.
* Take the guests' food and drink orders when business necessitates
* Monitor alcohol consumption and behavior of guests alerting a manager of any intoxicated or questionable guests.
* Observe guests' progress and respond in a timely way to their needs.
* Clean up spills immediately.
* Set-up and break down special events, to include moving tables, chairs and other furniture as necessary.
* Remove used dishes and maintain tables during meal by replacing utensils as necessary and refolding napkins.
* Follow Pebble Beach Company cash handling policies and procedures.
* Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety, health and general policies and procedures. Absolutely Required Skills: * Must be available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
* Food safety and TIPS certification required.
* High school diploma or equivalent. Desired Skills: * Previous Host experience preferred.
* Knowledge of point of sale system helpful. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area.
