With an innovative product, an ambitious team, and a simple mission, we are changing the way our clients think about tile.Safety TechnicianWe're seeking to fill a position for a full-time Safety Technician to help keep our Aromas headquarters in tip-top shape. Duties include: implement and improve Fireclay Tile's environmental, health and safety processes to promote a positive safety culture and a healthy workplace and maintain regulatory compliance. The Safety Technician collaborates with the EHS Manager and provides support to team members and management, monitors and measures EHS program implementation and performance, and will respond to and assist with emergency situations as they arise. This position will report to David Galaviz, Safety Manager in Aromas, CA.The Role Help maintain the safety of the team and the production facility to sustain our "tour ready"-- - stateComplete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists for general safety and material storage complianceProactively fix things in the building in need of repair and find ways to improve and maintain overall safetyCommunicate items that need to be fixed to the Maintenance DepartmentCommunicate safety concerns and safety issues with the Safety DepartmentMonitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking equipment used to minimize risk and hazardsAssist with set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, and ladders to prepare facilities for eventsMaintains documents associated with accident and injury reports, and other safety-related documents (as needed); Addresses teammate phone inquiries regarding safety issuesSafety Documentation: Support the Injury Illness Prevention Program, Lock Out/Tag Out, equipment, Respiratory Protection Program, Heat Illness Prevention Program, and other programs to sustain compliance with governmental agenciesProfessional Development: Attend training and maintain current knowledge of necessary environmental regulations / Cal-OSHA safety regulations specific to Fireclay Tile operationsFacility Information: Responsible for collecting the necessary documents and written policies from packing houses, marketing companies, and contractorsEnsure that all safety duties are completed in a timely fashionCollaborates with production department and conducts safety trainingsPromote Culture of Safety: Demonstrates commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety; communicates safety concerns; uses and promotes safe behaviors based on training and lessons learnedYou're a Great Fit If You...Are willing to learn new skills, can communicate clearly when unsure about topics or tasks you are asked to performAre approachable, inventive, and energeticTake initiative to find solutions where clear-cut procedures are in progressResilient and determined to ensure project goals are achieved on time Nimble and approachable demeanor with the ability to get involved in the details while maintaining a wider viewDemonstrates the ability to work well with teammates and have a positive attitudeBasic familiarity with tools and repairs and maintenanceHandy Person skills, to fix dispensers, door locks, chairs, water coolerGood organizational skills and a general desire to see everything neat and tidyAt all times represent Fireclay's Core Values:Honesty FirstMeasure Twice, Cut OnceTread Lightly on This EarthKindnessGanas (Desire)What We're Looking ForBilingual English/Spanish requiredHigh School Diploma or GEDTwo (2) years of maintenance/safety experienceAvailable to work weekends, mornings, and or eveningsThe ability to problem-solve, repair, and generate cost-effective solutionsGood communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to work with a variety of staff personsBe able to conduct safety training for new hires and in group settingAbility to lift and carry up 50 lbs. frequently, walk, stand and climb stairs throughout the duration of each shift with frequent use of hands and arms, ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and crawl, both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditionsHave experience in forklift operations and trainingAbility to stand and move on hard surfaces for up to eight hoursWe're building a diverse and inclusive work environment where we learn from each other.
